Unseen Iran Festival 2025

Celebrated alongside Blind Runner at St. Ann’s Warehouse in partnership with Waterwell and Pardis for Children, the Unseen Iran festival created a community and cultural oasis in New York City for 3 weeks. In January 2025, the beautiful and historic St. Ann’s lobby was transformed into gateway to a largely “Unseen Iran”. This included a Persian Tea Room, featuring Persian tea, rugs, and art. Prominent contemporary Iranian artists turned the walls of St. Ann’s into a gallery of modern art, including pieces from the incredible “Book of Kings” series by Shirin Neshat, photos by Iranian street photographer Tahmineh Monzavi, as well as works by Bahar Behbahani and the Safarani Sisters.

ENGAGEMENT

Short Film Club & Book Club Programs

Through our Short Film and Book clubs, Nimruz invites audiences into a shared practice of viewing, reading, and reflection. Each month, we curate a film and a book that offer meaningful entry points into Iranian culture, history, and contemporary life.

Together, these programs create space for thoughtful engagement and conversation—connecting stories across mediums and bringing people together around art that deepens understanding, sparks dialogue, and strengthens cultural connection.

Community gatherings

Salons, Screenings, Artist Talks

Through intimate salons, curated film screenings, and artist talks, Nimruz creates spaces where Iranian culture is experienced collectively and in depth. These gatherings transform theaters, galleries, and communal spaces into temporary cultural homes — places to slow down, listen, and connect. Across evenings of conversation and shared viewing, filmmakers, artists, and thinkers come together with audiences to explore Iranian stories, creative process, and cultural memory. Each event is designed as an open invitation: to encounter new perspectives, engage in thoughtful dialogue, and experience art not in isolation, but in community.
